Meet the Fort Lauderdale Team Behind Vance Gate Repair Fort Lauderdale
When a gate stops opening in Fort Lauderdale, the person who shows up matters as much as the parts on the truck. Our local crew has been working on Broward County gates since Adrian Vance brought the company here from commercial access-control work in 2014. We’re not a rotating cast of subcontractors. Same faces, same phone number, same standard on every visit. Between us we’ve seen just about every failure a salt-air climate and daily-use gate can produce. Here’s who you’ll meet when you call (754) 399-1474.
Our People
Marcus T. – Lead Technician
Marcus has been with Vance Gate Repair Fort Lauderdale for eight years, longer than anyone on the crew except Adrian himself. He came up through commercial gate automation, which means he thinks in wiring diagrams before he reaches for a wrench. His specialty is the stubborn intermittent fault: the opener that trips only after rain, the sensor that misreads a shadow at 3 p.m. He’s factory-trained on LiftMaster and FAAC controls, and he holds a state low-voltage license for access-control work. If Marcus tells you the limit switch was set 12 degrees past travel, he’s showing you the photograph of it. Off the clock, he rebuilds old two-stroke outboards, which he says is the same kind of patience a 2011 Mighty Mule demands.
Elena R. – Senior Installer
Elena runs our new gate and operator installations across Fort Lauderdale, from Rio Vista to Sailboat Bend. She started in ornamental iron work, so she understands what happens when a 400-pound gate hangs on hinges that weren’t set square. Her specialty is the full build: new steel frame, new operator, new safety edges, all wired and documented before we hand you the photo log. Elena’s the one who walks the site before any concrete gets poured and points out exactly where the gate will swing, what it’ll clear, and what happens to the drainage when we set the post. She’s got a welder’s eye for penetration, not just appearance. Most weekends she’s on the water with a kayak and a cooler, which she claims is research for understanding corrosion.
Danny O. – Service Coordinator
Danny is the voice on the phone when you call. He’s the reason nobody at Vance Gate Repair Fort Lauderdale sits through a voicemail loop: a live person answers 24 hours a day, and Danny works the overnight shift more often than not. He knows every technician’s route, which neighborhoods are which, and whether your gate opener is the kind that ships in two days or the kind we keep on the truck. Before a tech ever pulls up, Danny has texted you a name, a photo, and a written price range for the likely fix. He came from hotel front-desk management, which is why he’s calm when someone’s gate is stuck open at 2 a.m. and the dog has opinions about it. He keeps a clipboard of every part number we’ve installed in the last three years, in order, because he says the third time a board fails on the same street tells us more than the first.
Rosa V. – Apprentice Technician
Rosa joined the crew a year ago after working residential electrical rough-in. She’s apprenticing under Marcus, learning the gate trade the same way Adrian learned access control in 2014: on the ground, hands on, watching what the senior techs do before she touches a wire. She already handles photo-eye alignment, battery diagnostics, and control-board swaps on Linear and Ghost Controls units. The rule is she doesn’t work unassisted on high-tension springs, and she doesn’t pretend otherwise. Rosa’s the one who photographs every connection, every setting, every part before and after the job goes back together, which is a bigger responsibility than it sounds. She’s working toward her own low-voltage credential, and she bakes for the crew on Fridays, including a guava pastelito Danny says should be on the menu somewhere.
One Standard, Every Job

The thing that keeps a Fort Lauderdale crew consistent across eight hands and four trucks is the same set of habits, not a franchise playbook. Independently owned and operated. Written price handed over before any work starts, under Haven Standard Clause 1, so nobody on our team has to improvise a number in a customer’s driveway. A photo log on every visit under Clause 4: what we found, what we set, what we installed, filed in your job record and left with you. If something isn’t right within 365 days, the crew that did the work comes back and fixes it, no argument and no fee. Background-checked, uniformed, with a name and photo sent before arrival. That’s the standard Adrian Vance set when the company started. Every technician who carries a Vance shirt in Fort Lauderdale carries that standard with it.
